INNOVATIVE DVD SPARKS LAUNCH OF NOVEL
SET AT RENOWNED GREENBRIER SPA

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA — "Life imitates art, or perhaps vice versa," Carolyn Newman, publisher of award-winning River City Publishing of Montgomery, Alabama, observed today, announcing that author Brewster Milton Robertson has been invited to read from his new novel, A Posturing of Fools, at the West Virginia State Medical Association's annual Healthcare Summit at the world-famous Greenbrier resort, August 27-29, 2004.

Since its establishment in 2000, River City Publishing has been recipient of five national awards from the Independent Publishers Association. Brewster Milton Robertson's A Posturing of Fools is described as The Great Gatsby meets The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit.

"The karma of launching A Posturing of Fools at the Greenbrier is absolutely incredible. The novel was actually inspired by the author's early experiences at the West Virginia State Medical Association's annual Greenbrier meeting as a pharmaceutical rep in the late 1950s," Newman explained. "We at River City believe every generation should celebrate a great American novel that defines its epoch. A Posturing of Fools is a novel of extraordinary merit. Like Fitzgerald's masterwork, this fine novel examines serious American social themes."

The featured fiction title in River City's Fall 2004 catalog, A Posturing of Fools is stirring a groundswell of early interest. This is largely credited to an innovative five-minute DVD Video which was the creative brainchild of the author. The ground-breaking DVD will be the centerpiece of a Book Sense White Box promotion and accompany the 2,500 Advanced Readers Copies being mailed to media and book event directors.

"In March, watching previews of coming attractions at a movie theater, it occurred to me that a video preview would be a great way to promote a book. My publisher loved the idea; so I wrote a script, drove to Roanoke, VA, hired a videographer and shot raw footage tracing the novel's opening odyssey from Roanoke to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the location of the Greenbrier," Robertson enthuses, crediting the DVD for the overwhelming response that has garnered invitations from an impressive list of events, including the SEBA Fall Trade Show, Atlanta Literary Festival, Amelia Island Book Fest, Southern Festival of Books, Miami Book Fair, Virginia Festival of the Book and the Eugene Walter Bookfest. Media attendance at the August 27-29 Greenbrier unveiling requires reservation. There will be a spectacular Launch Gala, September 3, at Page & Palette Book Store in Fairhope, Alabama. "Plenty of food and drinks—everybody's invited!" says Charlotte Cabaniss Robertson, events coordinator for Page & Palette.

Robertson's Golden Eye Literary-prize-winning debut novel, Rainy Days And Sundays, is currently under option for film. His second novel, The Grail Mystique, is available in bookstores everywhere. For personal interviews call 334/265-6753.
